Their work encompass a wide range of specialized knowledge including structural enginnering and basic architectural principles.Interior Design requires an eye for spatial relations,colour,texture and fasion,as well as the intuition to know what a client will like. They must be good listeners and visionaries,with the know-how to execute various demands of their clients.
Interior Designing came into prominence only in the last few years. At present people have became more conscious about the design,layout and execution of their interiors,for offices,factories as well as residence.This has opened the door for a large number of professional designers. It is the one of the few professions where one can operate from home with minimum investment.
This field offers excellent job opportunities. An Interior Designers can find many opportunities including a job with some architectural firms,Interior Designers,Builders,Furniture’s Manufactures,Large Coperate Groups,Apex-Bodies under the Ministry of Housing. One can also try with some companies where you might be employed as a color-consultant or as an executive. Teaching is another option for interior designers. Most multinationals have in house architectural departments and there is constant demands for instructors. One can also start by his own and start taking assignments.
